All my new Word pages default to a two column setting. Help.
When I open a new Word page, it is defaulted to a two column format with a
wide left column and narrow right column. FORMAT-columns allows me to click on single column which returns that page to one column - but there is NO Default button to set it forever. This started sometime during the summer. Help. How can I reset the formatting to one column? Thanks for help Kate |

Assuming you have Word 2003 or earlier...
Locate and open your Normal.dot file as described in Method 1 in http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/...ocNotBlank.htm . Click on Format | Columns | One | Apply to: Whole document | OK. Even if "One" already appears to be selected, click on it anyway. Type a character or two and delete what you just typed. Save the Normal.dot file and close it. klacy wrote: When I open a new Word page, it is defaulted to a two column format with a wide left column and narrow right column.
