AGAIN WITH THE SECTIONS
I must be doing StyleRef incorrectly because its not working for me in
creating sections without section breaks. Please explain further. Also... Since I'm begging for help, do you guys know of a way to have the headers and footers adjust automatically to the margins when you change the page layout from portrait to landscape. eg. Portrait Page Section Break Next Page Landscape Page (how do I make the headers and footers for this page for this page adjust automatically) Thanks again guys. You all are amazing. |

AGAIN WITH THE SECTIONS
There are other reasons for needing section breaks than just changing the
content of a header, which is the only thing a StyleRef field can (in some cases) do. If you need to have a different layout on the first page of a chapter (page number in the footer instead of the header, for example), then you'll have to have a Next Page (or Odd Page) section break with "Different first page" enabled. And if you're changing orientation, then you'll of course need section breaks. As for the Portrait / Landscape header, the only way to have it "automatically" adjust to the margins (unless you're using Word 2007, which has a new kind of tab stop for the purpose) is to use a table with width set to 100%, and this can cause your document to shimmy unbearably. It's generally just simpler to unlink the sections and reposition the tab stops as needed. -- Suzanne S. "its not working for me" is not descriptive/detailed enough, so it is very difficult to "explain further". Word version? What content did you have in your document? What did you do exactly? What were your expectations? |
