Allow protection of table cell(s) in Word
I want to be able to create a template and restrict users from modifying
certain graphic sizes and locations. Putting them in a table and locking that cell, similar to what can be done in Excel, would be a tremendous help to this chore. I can only find (entire) document locking capability in Word and no ability to lock only certain portions of the document. Yes, I know I can restrict users to styles I allow but that does not prevent a user from modifying inserted graphic logos and such. ---------------- This post is a suggestion for Microsoft, and Microsoft responds to the suggestions with the most votes. If you have Word 2003, which your mention of restricting styles suggests, then you can protect just one cell. First protect the entire document. Then select everything before the cell in question and make that selection editable by everyone. Then repeat for everything after the cell. The effective result is that only the cell is protected. -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org |
