Putting jpegs into a table
I work in an Estate Agents. I am trying to produce Window Display Cards
using a word document with a table inserted. Using three jpegs I would like to have a bigger picture on the first column with two pictures (one above the other)in the second column. Both columns, the same height. Can anyone help? When I have tried the pictures become larger and the table is distorted. |

That will prevent the pictures expanding. -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org |

Thanks for your response. I have tried this but again, the pictures sends the
table distorted in that there is a space gap underneath the inserted jpeg which is larger than the original size. The second column which is divided into two so that a jpeg can be set one above the other also goes out of shape. It would be helpful if the original table shape could be locked in some way. When you set the table columns to fixed width and then insert a
picture in a cell, the picture is automatically sized so its width matches the column width. The aspect ratio (height-to-width relationship) is held constant so the picture itself won't be distorted. If there is space below the picture, it may be because the table row was set to an exact measurement -- check Table Table Properties Row and set the rightmost box to "At least". Or it may be because the paragraph mark inside the table cell was set to a large Space After value -- look in Format Paragraph. When you say the second column is "divided into two", do you mean the cell was split to make two cells, one below the other? If so, that isn't necessary; you can simply insert both pictures in the cell, and because they won't fit side-by-side they'll automatically be arranged in a stack. -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org On Tue, 16 Aug 2005 02:25:34 -0700, "Janie" wrote: Thanks for your response.
