insert a section
Hi
Im working in word 2003 and running xp I have a word document that is about 100 pages long. There are even and odd headers and footers that include page numbering. What I want to do is this: Add 2 blank pages to the front of the document .. without the headers or footer. Can anyone tell me how to do this? thanks d |

insert a section
At the beginning of the document, press Enter twice to create two new
paragraphs, and format them in Normal style. Between the first and second new paragraphs, press Ctrl+Enter to make a manual page break. Between the second new paragraph and the original first paragraph, insert a Next Page section break. With the cursor in Section 2, open the Odd Page header area. Click the "Same as Previous" button on the header toolbar to turn it off. Go to the Even Page header, Odd Page footer, and Even Page footer of Section 2, and turn off their "Same as Previous" too. Now you can go into the even and odd headers and footers of Section 1 and delete the page numbers there. For some background about what you're doing, see http://www.word.mvps.org/FAQs/Format...rontMatter.htm. -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org Email cannot be acknowledged; please post all follow-ups to the newsgroup so all may benefit.
