How do I trim input fields in Word 97 mail merge
The input file for my mail merge is a CSV file from an ERP system, and each
field in the CSV is padded with trailing blanks to the ERP system field size. Is it possible to automatically trim trailing blanks during mail merge? |

No.
Maybe the best thing to do is to open the CSV file in Excel and use the Trim() function in a formula on another sheet to create a replica of the information without the padding and then use that sheet as the data source. -- Hope this helps.
