Turn off read-only for ALL Word Documents
If the files come from a CD (or worse are being edited on a CD) they will be
read-only by design. This is true even if it is a RW CD or DVD. To clarify. If you create a new document, can you save it? If you open that document, can you make changes and save it? -- Charles Kenyon Word New User FAQ & Web Directory: http://addbalance.com/word Intermediate User's Guide to Microsoft Word (supplemented version of Microsoft's Legal Users' Guide) http://addbalance.com/usersguide See also the MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/ which is awesome! --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- This message is posted to a newsgroup. Microsoft Office 2003 Word is not allowing me to save or save as word documents that I am making changes to. Read-only check box is Clear in properties, but I cannot save revised Word files with out a rdocument is read-only. I do not want ANY read-only Word Documents on my computer. This is a work computer for creating, saving and modifying documents; correspondence, contact reports, etc. Under properties, the read-only check box contains no check mark. |
