Generating Vertical Splits Screen
I'm running Windows 2002 (10.6818.6817) SP3, in XP Home Edition. I'm trying
to figure out if its possible to open two Word documents, simultaneously, in either a vertical or horizontally split screen, so that I can simultaneously compare the two documents. I used to be able to do this with Word Perfect; but I don't seem to have the ability to do this with Word 2002, non-professional version. Any ideas? Any suggestions? Any bad news? Please respond and MERRY CHRISTMAS, HAPPY HOLIDAYS, HAPPY HANUKKAH, HAPPY KWANZAA! (you get the idea) |

Generating Vertical Splits Screen
If you have Tools Options General Windows in task bar checked Word
*appears* as separate instances for each document you can use Window Compare with to compare two documents side by side. If that option was not available in 2002 (it's been a while) you can still put any windows side by side, provided you have enough screen space to display them. -- Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org Wayne wrote: I'm running Windows 2002 (10.6818.6817) SP3, in XP Home Edition. Generating Vertical Splits Screen
Wayne,
Don't know for sure but in Word 2003 you can compare two documents side by side using Window menu - compare side by side. Can't recall it this feature was in Word 2002 though. If it is not, open your two Word documents, right click the task bar and choose what you want tile horizontal or vertical. Or in Word open the two documents and choose Window - arrange all - then adjust the windows. -- Luc Sanders (MVP - PowerPoint) "Wayne" schreef in bericht ... (you get the idea) Word 2002: Click on Window; Split and you split the window horizontally. or Window; New Window will open another resizable window with all menues available in each, into the same document. Those you could resize for side by side if you wanted vertical. HTH Pop` |
