You certainly don't do it with Word. I would suggest posting your question
over in one of the Visio newsgroups. And you might try reading the Visio help file. Adding new symbols is quite easy. -- JoAnn Paules MVP Microsoft [Publisher] ~~~~~ How to ask a question http://support.microsoft.com/KB/555375 "bezzy" wrote in message ... i want to draw industrial electrical circuit diagrams using microsoft visio 2002.how do i go about it and how can i add on to my electrical symbols' library |

You could draw the individual symbols in Word, then copy and paste them into
a Visio file. Once there, you'll want to switch your stencil to Edit mode, then just drag and drop the copied symbol from the drawing page onto the stencil. Save the stencil, switch it back to Read-Only and you have your new master shape. Talk about doing it the long way around. Why use Word at all?

Word certainly isn't necessary and it is a longer way around, however, I've
found that many people who use Visio started their drawings in a program like Word by using the Drawing toolbar. As such, many of these drawings are already contained in a Word document. Since the question was posted in a Word forum, I simply assumed that was the case here. As such, the instructions were meant to assist in getting the information out of Word and into Visio. I saw no mention of Word in the OP's post and I assumed he/she posted in the
wrong newsgroup. Unless the OP replies, we'll never know which of us is right. ;-) -- JoAnn Paules MVP Microsoft [Publisher] ~~~~~ How to ask a question http://support.microsoft.com/KB/555375 "Deanna Reynolds" wrote in message ...
