Default protecting documents

Is it possible to protect a document so that you are the only person to edit
it but other people can read only and save as a new document if required?

You cannot stop other people, who you allow to view the document from
editing and saving the changes in a new file. The *original* document can
however be protected.

Many thanks Graham. Is this in:-

tools, options, security, password to modify

or do you have another way to protect your document.

I don't mind people saving as but I don't want them to save over my document
and its not a document template.

Many thanks

That's the method, but it won't stop someone saving *over* your document. It
will only stop them making changes *to* your document.
