Default how do i stop documents saving as read only

once i save documents to a disk, when i go back to the disk to edit, etc it
always is as read only and will not let me change anything. I do not have
read only attributes ticked in my options.

Don't ever save to or attempt to read from any type of removable media. Save
to the HD, copy to the disk, copy from the disk, open from the HD. If the
file is on a CD, it will be Read Only by default; you must change this
attribute after copying to the HD.
