I've inherited a document in which I need to set a 5th level of Outline
numbering. I've got the numbering how it is needed (8.2.2.2.1), but the Text
Position Tab After box is grayed out.

I'm bound by the established formatting/styles/outline numbering of this
document, and I'm not allowed to change anything.

Any thoughts why this may be?

This setting is disabled if "Space" or "Nothing" has been selected for
"Follow number with." If you're not seeing those settings, click More to
expand the dialog.
