Default Word File Menu

Hi,
I cannot access anything on my file menu when Word is open but I do not have
a document open. When I scroll over the options, they are highlighted, but
nothng happens when I click on them. This includes the "open" command, and
any of the buttons for the files I recently modified. I am using Word 2003.
Thanks in advance.

When you open a document by double-clicking on it, can you edit it?

Default Word File Menu

Hi Anne,
That does not work. I can use the file menu when I have a document open,
but not when there is no document open. So I cannot open a document or
create a new one unless I use the toolbars. The toolbars actually work, it
is just the file menu that seems to be defunct.

What happens if you press Ctrl-O instead of attempting through the menu?
