Default measurement between 0" and 22"

The measurement must be between 0" and 22".Word 2007, set to work in inches
(and the ruler shows inches)

On a particular document, two of us at different times tried to change the
left/right margins from 1" to 1.25".

Most of the time, Word displayed the error message: The measurement must be
between 0" and 22"

There were a couple random times when I was able to change the the margins
without getting the error message. I saved the document and it's now set to
the correct margin. However, the error message still appears when I try to
switch to another tab in the "Page Layout" dialog box.

I want it stopped!!

The other person has already transferred the text to a fresh document. I'm
going to try that again, but I thought I'd ask if anyone has encountered this
problem before.

Thanks for listening.

Sorry for the typo right at the beginning.

Scratch the first sentence. My post begins by telling you my setup: "Word
2007, set to work in inches (and the ruler shows inches)."

That message appears when Word thinks you're trying to set a page size
bigger than 22", which is the maximum size Word can handle. Sometimes
gremlins cause erroneous settings like that in Normal.dotm (or Normal.dot in
earlier versions).

See http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/...ocNotBlank.htm for ways to
deal with it.

My effort to transfer the text to a fresh document seems to have worked.

Still puzzled over why the margin error message kept popping up. What might
it a symptom of? Only a corrupt document?
