Default Mail Merge - Rules for header record

Does anyone know if the rules for Mail Merge Header record/fields in Word
2003, eg no more than 40 characters, no spaces etc,are the same as in
previous versions?
I have found the information for Word 2000 and 2002 in Word Help, but cannot
seem to find it for Word 2003. The rules are the same for 2000 and 2002.
Thank you.
