Positioning table on the page
Is there any way to position a table consistently at the bottom of the page
margin? This is a table that goes at the bottom of a section, with each section usually being less than one page, but occasionally extending into a second page. Because each section's info table has different info in it, I can't just stick it in the footer. I'd rather not use a text box (which I know can be positioned at the bottom margin) because that creates new problems and the table itself has a number of rows and columns. So is there any other way to position the table? And if so, how easy is it to convert existing tables to use that method fo positioning? For example, I suspect it would be a major pain to try to put existing tables into text boxes. I'm wondering about frames, but not sure how to put a frame around a table without major surgery. Thanks for the help. Jo |

Positioning table on the page
I'm not sure this works in Word 2000, but it should go OK in 2002 or 2003...
With the cursor in the table, go to Table Table Properties. Under "Text Wrapping", click the Around button and then the newly enabled Positioning button. In the next dialog, set the vertical position to Bottom relative to Margin. Click OK in both dialogs. No text boxes, no frames, no problems changing existing tables. -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org Email cannot be acknowledged; please post all follow-ups to the newsgroup so all may benefit. Positioning table on the page
Thanks Jay! I forgot to mention that I've just upgraded to 2003. I was able
to find this and it works. Yay!! Too bad you can't access this from Styles. That means I'll have to go into every table and change it manually, but at least I won't have to go back and manually reposition the blasted things every time I tweak the line spacing on the rest of the page! Thanks again! :-) Jo "Jay Freedman" wrote: I'm not sure this works in Word 2000, but it should go OK in 2002 or 2003... With the cursor in the table, go to Table Table Properties.
