Default How do i reset all settings in Microsoft Word 2003?

Well, when i select a word or sentence by holding mouse button and
highlighting it, and type a letter on keyboard, it doesn't overwrite selected
text, it just adds to it. Where can I find settings for this, or how do i
restore this.

In Word, click on Tools | Options | Edit | check the "Typing
replaces selection" box | OK.
