Default Insert custom document properties into document

I want to create custom document properties and then insert field codes in a
document to draw information from those custom properties.

I know how to link a custom document property to bookmarked content; what
I'm trying to do is essentially the opposit of this.

Well, the DocProperty field will insert the current content of a document
property in the document. Are you asking how to create the document
properties?
