Default Footer Problem in Word 2007

I have Word 2007 on Windows Xp platform.

If i have a footer with filename & path and page x of Y in footer then try
to edit system VERY slow to respond (2 or 3 minutes) 100 % of CPU taken by
Word 2007.

Saved files on local hard drive instead of server but still have trouble if
I try to edit footer. Otherwise every thing fine

Any one had the same problem?
