Footnotes are not numberded by chapter???
I have written seven chapters (of my thesis) with footnotes in seven
different docs. Merging these chapters into one file has the result that my page-numbering is ok, but the footnotes are now numbered through for the whole thesis, and not from 1 per chapter (which is required for the submission of the thesis). Submission is in 6 days, I would be very grateful for your help! |

Presumably each chapter is a separate Section, so that you can have a
different header/footer for each? (If not, we'll wait while you go insert Section Break New Page before each chapter.) Now go to the footnote control panel (how you get there differs with your version of Word) and set the Numbering drop-down to start over at 1 in each section.
