Default Word Tab Key Behavior

Okay, when i first read this it didn't make any sense. Then I figured it out.
So to make it extremely clear: This is for Microsoft Office Word 2003.

On your menu bar:
Go to €śTools€ť
Click €śAutoCorrect Options€¦€ť
click on the tab that reads "AutoFormat As You Type"
Check the box at the bottom that says "Set left- and first-indent with tabs
and backspaces€ť€¦
thats all

In Word 2002 and 2003 this option has been moved to the AutoFormat As You
Type tab of Tools | AutoCorrect Options.

Buffiy,

If you go to ToolsOptions and click on the Edit tab, you should see an
option called "Tabs and backspace set left indent". Leaving this checked
will cause the annoying behavior you describe.

I currently use Word 2002 at work. When I have a numberd list or

bullets
and use the tab key within the list it indents where the line begins and
changes the number, letter, or bullet to a subordinate number, letter, or
bullet. I am creating this in a regular document, not an outline.

Word 2002 Example:
1. Company Profile [Enter]
[tab] a. Company Location

At home I have Word 2003 and when I do the same thing I get...

Word 2003 Example:
1. Company Profile [Enter]
2. [tab] Company Location

Can anyone help me change my settings to that the Tab key acts the same

way in Word 2003 as it does in 2002 and all the previous versions? I

have
looked everywhere I can think of and have not found anything. Currently

(in
Word 2003) I must click on the Increase Indent icon to have this happen.

As
you can see this is an additional step that really slows me down. Thanks
