Default Winword 2007 crashes on the following command line: winword aaa.do

Winword 2007 crashes on the following command line: winword aaa.doc.
Steps to reproduce: run cmd.exe, type command winword aaa.doc. aaa.doc shall
not exist. Winword 2007 starts and crashes. I expect it shall run a new
winword 2003 document aaa.doc instead.

Use instead winword "aaa.doc" , however it is not going to 'run' a new Word
97-2003 document if the file doesn't exist. It will open a new blank
document in Word's internal format after providing an error message. It does
not become a Word 97-2003 document until you save it as such.

It did not help. The Word still crashes. But OK, it is probably a feature,
the way it works.

OK. I probably shall look for a way to make Word 97-2003 document as default
instead to avoid a lot of clicking.

Thank you,

P.S. A bit strange but I was unable to open this thread from my hotmail
notification message and had to it for. More over the reply button did not
work for a lot of attempts. I have almost given up.
