Default underlining hyperlinks - turn it off

hyperlinks are automatically formatted blue and underlined. The blue is
nice, but the underline isn't. How do you remove the underline and make it
default for all documents that you open or create? (Not just changing the
style for one document.)

Tom,

Hyperlinks and Followed Hyperlinks are formatted with two different styles
stored in the document template. You can modify the styles to eliminate
the underline and it will transfer to all new documents created with that
template. For the documents already created you will have to change the
style in the individual documents. Its the way of the world. Sorry.

This is a windows setting. Go to Windows Explorer and select Tools, Folder
Options, General Tab and select the only when I point at them option.

That applies only in your browser. In Word documents you need to modify the
Hyperlink and Followed Hyperlink styles.
