Default highlighting speed

When I try to highlight in Word, especially in Tables, I can't control the
vertical speed of the cursor - it's so fast that I end up highlighting
several pages, not just a cell or two.

Put the cursor at the beginning of the area you want. Use the scroll bar or
the mouse wheel to scroll until the end of the area is visible. Hold the
Shift key while you click at the end. An alternative is to hold Shift and
use arrow keys, or press F8 to turn on Extend mode and use arrow keys.
