Default Consecutive page numbering with multiple sectio...

I am working on a document that has multiple sections per page due to text
formatting (one column at top and two columns in lower half). However, I
have been unable to have consecutive page numbers thrughout the entire
document. Attempts to restart and/or maintain consecutive numbers have been
unsuccessful. How do I do this?

Most likely the page numbering is restarting in the inaccessible sections in
the middle of the page. You can either insert a page break to make the
header/footer of such a section accessible or use Insert | Page Numbers:
Format (starting from the center section). If you use the latter, be sure to
use Close rather than OK to exit the dialog.

Your suggestion allowed me to get the page numbers to behave. Thanks for the
help
