option send to e-mail address (as attachment) unavailable
I have just the opposite problem as the one that started this thread. I have
the (as attachment) option but don't have the recipient option that does NOT create an attachment. In other words, FileSend To does not have Mail Recipient without word in parans. The other source suggested adding only the MAPIX=1 value, but somehow that only worked for my as administrator. Adding the full monty did the trick for ordinary users. Thanks! Wouter -----Original Message----- Are you confirming that the suggestion I posted worked for you - albeit found from another source? It is helpful for future reference to know what works and your last response is a tad vague. -- Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org wrote: Graham, Thanks to Genine's post I re-searched Google newsgroups for info about "Mail recepient (as attachment)" in stead of "e-mail adress (as attachment)" which was my faulty translation of the Dutch Word option into English. Then I found a post mentioning the same solution, and that worked. Thanks anyway, Wouter -----Original Message----- It may not help, but check that WIN.INI in your Windows folder contains at least [Mail} MAPIX=1 and preferably [Mail] MAPI=1 CMC=1 CMCDLLNAME=mapi.dll CMCDLLNAME32=mapi32.dll MAPIX=1 MAPIXVER=1.0.0.1 OLEMessaging=1 It should be there already, but its absence can cause problems with e-mail access form Word -- Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org Wouter wrote: Genine, I already tried that one as well. The option "Mail Recipient (As Attachment)" is then grey-ed out and thus not available. According to the user the option is no langer available since we installed the 128 bits encryption pack for IE, but I don't think it has anything to do with that. The funny thing is, the user also complained since then about a new confirmation before deleting textblocks, which turned out te be an option "Navigationbuttons for WordPerfect Users". It seems that someone or something changed a few setting here and there, but I haven't got a clue how to enable the "Send as Attachment" option. Wouter -----Original Message----- Go to Tools Customise On the Commands tab, click on File and then in the right hand pane find Mail Recipient (As Attachment). Drag this on to your toolbar. Wouter -----Original Message----- Look under Tools Options and put a tick in the bo Mail as attachment, that should give you the option on the file menu, thanks Tim "Wouter" wrote: How come the Word 2000 menu-option File Send To e- mail adress (as attachment) is no longer available? Is this because of a security update a user recently downloaded or is something wrong with my Outlook/Exchange configuration? TIA, Wouter . . . . |
