I need help finding the "shrink to fit" command.
Switch to Print Preview (File | Print Preview, or Ctrl+F2); then you'll see
the option. -- Stefan Blom Microsoft Word MVP "sheana" wrote in message ... I opened a document, selected all text, went to Edit, but can't find "Shrink to Fit". Please help. Thanks in advance. |

Hi Sheana,
shrinktofit is Excel, not Word. -- Greetings from Bavaria, Germany Helmut Weber, MVP WordVBA Vista Small Business, Office XP |

The only place that command appears by default is on the toolbar of the Print Preview. You don't have to select any text to use it, because it automatically applies to the entire document. You can add the command to any other toolbar or menu where you'd like to see it (for instructions, see http://www.word.mvps.org/FAQs/Custom...ToToolbar.htm). In the Customize dialog, you'll find it in the Tools category as "Shrink One Page", or in the All Commands category as "ToolsShrinkToFit". -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org Email cannot be acknowledged; please post all follow-ups to the newsgroup so all may benefit. |

Hi Jay,

You don't have to select any text to use it, because it automatically applies to the entire document. yes, got it, live and learn, but I wonder, in the object browser "shrinktofit" applies to Excel only, whereas the macro recorder in Word records .FitToPages. I know by now. -- Greetings from Bavaria, Germany Helmut Weber, MVP WordVBA Vista Small Business, Office XP |

Helmut,
The command is on the toolbar in Print Preview. In addition to Jay's reply, see http://word.mvps.org/faqs/formatting/FitCopy.htm. -- Stefan Blom Microsoft Word MVP "Helmut Weber" wrote in message ...
