Enable Live Prieview
I have been using MS Office 2007 Pro for about a month now and just recently (well probably after
running a disk optimisation through Wise Registry Cleaner Pro) I have been unable to select the Enable Live Preview feature in Word Options. (Same goes for Access & Excel). I get the following text box when I hover the mouse over the feature... This feature has been automatically disabled based on Terminal Server Settings, connection speed, or animation settings on this machine. How do I reconfigure this feature? I have tried to reconfigure the optimize settings in WRCPro, have tried various options in Control Panel but none of it helps... The ELP feature worked initially when I installed Office but then stopped. Any help greatly appreciated, TIA. Hi Ivan,
From Office Button=Word Options=Resources run the diagnostics to see if Word can repair the registry settings. It could be that you have restricted registry permissions that won't save the settings or that you 'cleaner' has changed/blocked a setting that Word uses. ============ "Ivan" wrote in message ... Enable Live Prieview
Hi Bob,
Thanks for the info, I tried that. the diagnostics tool didn't find any faults, reported 6 diagnostics, will see what they report when I next go online. Any ideas where or which registry settings to tweak? Delete the Word DataKey and that should resolve the problem. Run Regedit and
navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\versio n number\Word\Data and delete. -- Terry Farrell - MSWord MVP "Ivan" wrote in message ... Enable Live Prieview
Thanks for the info Terry.
However I shall not need to try that now as I have resolved the matter in a roundabout fashion... I turned on the guest account from Control Panel, logged off then logged on as guest. Ran Word and ELP was available. So having a hunt around I right clicked desktop properties and in display properties (suppose I could have got to it from control panel too) I checked the appearance effects tab and found that the 'Use the following transition effect... was checked. My default profile for this and the next option, ... smooth edges of screen font ... were grayed and un selectable! So I logged out from guest, created a new administrator profile, logged on and copied 'My Documents' {inc. Application Data, Local Settings inc hidden files and loads of other files} to an Ext HD. Rebooted the machine logged on with my new profile, ran a few tests and all was reasonably well. Enable Live Preview was back in action. Copied all my data from the Ext HD back to new my docs and almost similar folder/directory structure and then went about testing the rest of the applications etc. Most of them required only minimal tweaking as they prompted for New User info or First Run dialog info, so many of the preferences I were able to give gave clean settings to apps that had got a tad ungainly. Anyway, sorry if it's "long-winded", just had to let folks know a possible solution. Thanks again for the info - shall have a look at the reg key anyway, just out of curiosity Ivan On Sat, 26 Jul 2008 12:13:02 +0100, "Terry Farrell" wrote: Delete the Word DataKey and that should resolve the problem.
