Can Word 2000 be loaded into Works 2003
I have a copy of Word 2000 which I bought with Works 2000 Suite. I have a
laptop that has Works 2003 already installed. I have tried to install the Word 2000 portion of Works 2000 Suite on to the laptop but get an error message each time it tries to. Are the two not compatible? |

Did your copy of Works Suite 2000 come with your other computer?
What did the error message say? Please don't paraphrase. -- JoAnn Paules MVP Microsoft [Publisher] "Jim S." Jim wrote in message ... I have a copy of Word 2000 which I bought with Works 2000 Suite. Are the two not compatible? JoAnn, I was mistaken. My laptop has a trial version of MS Office 2003 on it that I have not ever activated. I was trying to install MS Works 2000 with MS Word 2000 add-in. I actually got it to install tonight, but I can not get Word to work and when I open MS Work it comes up with the MS Works Word Processor active instead of MS Word. Is this because MS Word 2003 was loaded on to the computer before MS Word 2000? |

Probably. What I would do is uninstall the trial version of Office, Works,
and Word 2000. Reboot. Install Word 2000 then install Works 2003. I know you can multiple versions of Office but they must be installed in the order of release (and in separate folders). I would think that the same hold true for Works. -- JoAnn Paules MVP Microsoft [Publisher] "Jim S." wrote in message ... That may be more beneficial in the long run. If I remove the trial version of MS Office, I have no way to to restore it (it was on the machine when purchased) which I may want to do at a later date because of Excel and PowerPoint, and I do not have Works Suite 2003 to put on the computer, so I would be stuck with Works Suite 2000, which is another option, I guess. |

I always recommend buying Office from Amazon.com. You'll have to figure out
which edition you need to suit your needs. -- JoAnn Paules MVP Microsoft [Publisher] "Jim S." wrote in message ... "JoAnn Paules [MVP]" wrote: Probably.
