I use Outlook Express. When I click on attachments, Word 2007 auto opens
then and converts them. ALL formatting is lost.

The same conversion happens with all my documents when I try to open them.

The convert choice does not show up under the Office button until I have
opened the document, but by then it has automatically converted it.

I have Word 97 on my system, but it wont open attachments now.

I am using compatibility mode.

Save the attachments to your hard drive and then open them in the desired
version of Word.
