Default Email button does not appear in Word standard toolbar

I have a client in an Exchange server 2003 environment who, when she is using
Word 2003 does not have an email button on the standard toolbar. It's just
not there and it has not been moved by customiization. This may/may not be
related but when she tries to click on an email address in any website so
that she goes right to a new email she gets an error message that says
"Cannot start Microsoft Outlook. The operation failed. An object could not
be found". She was recently upgraded to Office 2003 from Office 2000. I have
run Office updates, detect and repair, I have done a clean uninstall of
Office 2000 and 2003 and reinstalled 2003. The problem still exists. I logged
into the machine as myself and I do not have the problem. My guess is that it
is her profile. I tried renaming her profile folder to something like
username.old but Windows wouldn't let me do it because it says the profile is
in use. Any ideas are greatly appreciated.
