Default Anyone know what { DATA } fields are?

Hello All,

Does anybody know if any version of Word has or had a DATA field (not
DATABASE or DATE)?

One of our clients has some templates which were converted from RTF files
and some of them have one of these fields in them -
e.g. { DATA c:\\SomeFolder\\SomeDocument.doc }.

We don't know exactly what version of what application originally produced
the RTF files.

Just curious to know what they are.

Thanks.

Ed

It was the field type used to specify a mail merge data source in earlier
versions of Word. I think Word 6 was probably the first with the new method.
At one time, I /think/ when you opened a .doc with a { DATA } field, Word
would convert it into a connection, but maybe not any more.
