Default Typing on dotted lines

Hi All,
I am creating a standard letter to keep on my database Within the letter I
have for example:

Thank you for your gift of $........, we appreciate your interest. If I
shoud type $10.00 in the dotted lines the sentence becomes longer. Is there a
way to type within the dotted line so that the sentence remains in tact?

Thanks

I tried all 5 suggestions but none of them worked. After I type in the dotted
line the other texts are affected

You could use a MacroButton NoMacro field with a dotted underline. See
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/TblsFldsFm...acroButton.htm

I think you may be the first person ever who has not felt that word.mvps.org
is a useful site. You say you want a dotted line that you can type on, yet a
MacroButton field doesn't work for you? What part of your requirements am I
not understanding? Just insert a MacroButton field with either a row of
periods or a row of spaces with a dotted underline as the prompt.
