Default hot key for ±

Hi,

does anyone know if there is a hot key combination for ±. i need to
key in a lot of this symbol and felt tired using insert... symbols...
many times.

Hold Alt while you type 0177 on the Numeric Keypad.

Default hot key for ±

When you've selected it in Insert Symbol, note that at the bottom
there's a "Shortcut" button. Click that, assign whatver key sequence
to it that you want, click Assign and Close, and then you can type it
directly.

Create an autocorrect entry. Type in the character ALT+0177 then create an
autotext entry to replace (say) +- with ±
