word not readable
I just tired to send a Word document which I created in Microsoft Student and
Office 2007. It had the extension of .docx and half the people can read it. What is going on here anyway. I never had any trouble until I got this new 2007 Office which is a a waste of time. |

A quick Google search would have told you that Word 2007 has a new format
and that was widely advertised, there is a compatibility pack that enables folks with older versions of Word to read newer files, and that you could save your file as the older version. I guess using Google is a waste of time too. -- JoAnn Paules MVP Microsoft [Publisher] Tech Editor for "Microsoft Publisher 2007 For Dummies" "star" wrote in message ... word not readable
I did do a Google search and that is how I found this site. Because I set up
a nicely formated Word document and sent it as two attachments one with .docx and one wth .doc which I believe is the converter type. Out of a dozen people, one still could not read it and I had to do a paste on a email to it could be read..and then it does not do all the paragraphs and you have to send the pictures. That is why I said it was a waste of time because sending it in two formats is a waste of time when sending Word attachments and it still doesn't work. Do you know why...what form should one use so that everyone can read it? No, .doc is not a converter tyoe. It's the old format.
Those who can read a .docx file either have Word 2007 or have the compatibility pack installed. Those who can't, don't have either. -- JoAnn Paules MVP Microsoft [Publisher] Tech Editor for "Microsoft Publisher 2007 For Dummies" "star" wrote in message ...
