Default Inserting TOC in document

Hi All,

I have a word document that I've been trying to create a TOC for. Here is
an example of the document and what's happening when I try to create the TOC.

1. THEIR ADVENTURES
1.1 Adventure One. The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog. The quick
brown fox jumps over the lazy dog. The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy
dog. The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog. The quick brown fox jumps
over the lazy dog.

When I try to add a 2 level TOC I am getting the text after the period on
line 1.1.

Can you help me to create a TOC where only the heading is referenced. Example
Their Adventures .....................1
Adventure One ....................1.1

Thanks for your help.

You have set the whole of the second paragraph as Heading Level 2, so the
TOC will include it all.

The easy solution is to put the Heading 2 title (Adventure One) onto a
separate line and then assign the paragraph following a normal paragraph
style. If that is inconvenient, then you can put a Style separator following
the Stop Space after Adventure One. Assign the paragraph style to the
following text.

Addendum--your options for having a heading on the same line as the body
of the paragraph.

How can I include just part of a paragraph in my table of contents?
