Default Bookmarks/Hyperlinks in Word 2007

I am working on a handbook in Word 2007 (saving as Word 2003) with links from
the table of contents to each section and topic. I created the bookmarks and
inserted them into the table of contents as bookmarks and as hyperlinks to a
place in the document. But, using both methods, the links are not usable by
others who receive the file via email. How can I create links to places
within the same document and have useable links when emailed?
