Default What happened to the file path?

I don't see a filed for the file path and file name in MS Word 2007? I
always place the entire path and file name in the footer but can't find that
ability to MS Word 2007.

Sorry to be so dense. I added the autotext button but I don't see the old
simple feature that allowed me to place the entire path in the footer. I
typed in the field code but I don't see it converting to the filename and
path.

Hi

In the footer, do ctrl-F9. Within the braces that Word gives you, type
filename \p . So it looks like { filename \p }
Then press F9.

Hope this helps.

I selected and then did ctrl-F9. One of the braces ended up in the next
line. I then selected everything and hit F9 and nothing happened.

Doe si t matter that I am working in "compatibility mode" because my
secretary has not yet upgraded to MS Word 2007?

If the brace is on the next line, this suggests that the field code ends in
a paragraph or line break. Display nonprinting characters to see which and
delete it. This may or may not be relevant to the problem.

If you are saying that you are still seeing the field code as opposed
to the field result, press Alt+F9.
