Word Repair Toolbox can repair all type of .docx file of Microsoft Word. Also you can recover data from old version of Word: from .doc files of Office 97-2003. http://www.word.repairtoolbox.com/

You can repair you .docx file in following ways.

1. Open and Repair feature of Microsoft Word

File menu click Open select the damaged document now click the
down arrow on the Open button click on Open and Repair

2.Save you document in .rtf or .txt file

3.Try OpenOffice to open corrupt file.

4.Try third party Word Repair utility.

Hi there!

As suggested by james11, any of the technique can be executed to recover DOCX/DOC file of MS Word. Open and Repair feature is a very good option if you do not want to opt third party tool. Well first thing as every other contributors suggested you to do is, try the inbuilt repair feature of MS Word. Most of the time the file is repaired using this feature.

If in case you are not able to rectify the error using built in feature, I can recommend you article by Mr. John on Quora, He's mostly active there and has also helped me with multiple queries.
