Booklet printing Word 2003 on XpPro
I have a template that works for a 5.5 x 8.5 portrait layout on a letter
sized landscaper paper. The contents is a recipe collection. Two recipes are set up with tables for ingredients and another table for directions per page. With duplex printing 8 recipes will result on one landscape paper. On an XpPro the Word 2003 booklet is not available in the list of types so I choose mirrored and adjusted the margins/gutter. My Canon pixma printer has the duplex feature as well as the booklet feature. The printer manual indicates that booklet printing will not work on Windows NT. so I wondered if XpPro fits into that classification In Word 2003 the resulting print has the 2 pages of recipes on the backside upside down. In Open Office the same layout and printer produces a correct duplex result. After extensive searching on the booklet sites, printing booklets etc. I wondered why 'booklet' wasn't available as one of the choices in the drop down menu in Word 2003. I'm to the point of giving up attempting to print from Word 2003 but I wondered if there was a work around. Rose -- http://rwgallery.webng.com/index.html |

If you're using a booklet setting in your printer Properties, then you'll
need to select it there, but if you want to print a booklet directly from Word, choose "Book fold" under "Multiple pages" on the Margins tab of Page Setup. -- Suzanne S. Booklet printing Word 2003 on XpPro
"Book fold" doesn't work. I have a normal 8 page portrait document that I
wanted to print in booklet form. I selected "Book fold" as you suggested and I get a big mess with my content spanning several pages. I haven't even attempted to print it in duplex because the print preview is so messed up. I don't want to waste paper. What am I doing wrong? Your help is greatly appreciated. "Suzanne S. Print Preview shows you the pages in reading order, not in the order in
which they will print. But if "Book fold" doesn't suit you, see http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Formatting...etPrinting.htm -- Suzanne S.
