Default Spell checking is not working properly when Track Changes is on

In MS Word (2000), I have turned on the Track Changes feature with Highlight
changes on screen and Hilight changes in printed document options unchecked.

If I use DELTE KEY to delete characters from a word, when the cursor leaves
the word, the spell checker is NOT WORKING (red wavy underline is not coming)

If I use BACKSPACE key to delete characters from a word, when the cursor
leaves the word, ITS WORKING (red wavy underline is coming)

If I SELECT AND DELETE certain characters, spell checker is NOT WORKING for
both DELTE KEY and BACKSPACE key.

eg: if i use delete key to delete

'e' from the word 'these' and the the spell checker wont underline
resultant word 'thse'.
But if i use backspace it will be having the wave underline after I leave
the word.

ANOTHER PROBLEM is, in the above said condition, if I use BACKSPACE for
deleting a character, i cannot use DELETE KEY to delete the character
immediately following the the character deleted using backspace key.

Can anybody help?

Not really, beyond using F7 to perform a full spell check and advising you to
move to a newer version of Word. Track changes has its quirks in all versions,
but the type you describe were certainly prevalent in Word 2000. Nothing anyone
can do to change that behavior.

The problem with deleting is certainly related to not allowing deletion of
existing "edits" (what track changes is tracking).

Default Spell checking is not working properly when Track Changes is o

Hi Cindy,

Thank u for ur answer. Do u know whether there is any ms word service
updates that can correct this problem?

OR do u know what exactly is the difference between using a BACKSPACE key
and DELETE key in MS word. When i use backspace key to delete a character,
the wave underline is coming and when 'delete' key is used its not coming. In
both cases tracked changes are there in the document.

Is there any method that i can call after a 'delete' key press in my word
automation program so that wavy underlining come?

i.e., when using a backspace key MSWord does something or call some fucntion
which it is not doing when using a 'delete' key.

any idea about it??
(cannot use _Application.CheckSpelling() as it pops up the spell checker
dialog and its not recognizing deletions using 'delete' key)

Thanks in advance,
Rose.
