Default ideas for a letter applying for tenure

Hi!

I am supposed to write a letter to the Dean of Arts and Sciences about my
application for tenure and promotion (from assistant prof to associate prof).
I have all the tenure stuff gathered - what more can I possibly add?

What should the letter accomplish? Any ideas?

Cheers,

This newsgroup doesn't deal with the content of Word documents. Perhaps you
can find something useful with Google.

If you have to ask these types of questions, then you probably should not be
a member of faculty at any college.

Actually, all faculty do ask these questions--but as JoAnn said, this is
absolutely not the right place to ask them, to the point that I wonder if
this is a joke.

Ask the last person in your dept who came up for tenure (successfully) if
you could see their tenure letter. Ask tenured friends in other depts who
may serve as mentors what they suggest. Does the Dean of A&S not have
sample dossiers? Ask the Dean's office, surely they have standard advice.
Check the faculty handbook.
