Default How do I change the date range on a calendar template in Word

I downloaded a calendar template from the Office website. It is for the
academic school year of 2005 - 2006. Is there a way to change the dates to
2006 - 2007?

Try turning off the "feature" of automatic language detection. (It doesn't
work as well as the grammar checker if that is a hint as to why you might
want to turn it off.)
