Cant Open Attachments - In word 2003
Hi, hope you can help, clicking on attachments from Hotmail i get a word pop
up file dialog box with the "save" and "Cancel option" but the "open" option isnt offered. when i right click on the attachment link in an attempt to open that way nothin happens with the open selection, i dont get the "open with" option either i have tried holding ctrl and clicking on the attachment link, file association in control panel (.doc) i have to save the attachment first before being able to open the attachment, something i dont want to have to be doing. is there a setting within word /internet options that needs to be set? This occurs for excel, word and PDF attachments. if it works for one i hope it should work for the others i use word 2003 on Vista pc thanks Larry -- In search of Perfection -- In search of Perfection |

Cant Open Attachments - In word 2003
The peculiarities of Hotmail have nothing to do with Word. It is in any case

Hi Graham,
the problem occurs on my home pc, so at the moment i have to open attachments from the office which isnt convient (we use word 2003 at work too!) I did get it to work 2wks ago by fiddling in the "options" tab in word that makes it more aggravating once seeing it work before,the same fiddle isnt having it this time around Do i really have to save every attachment on my hard drive to open them? Cant Open Attachments - In word 2003
Got home last nyt battle ready to solve this one (without any tips tho) sso
had made no changes at all to the PC, clicked on a hotmail attachment holding ctrl and viola another Tab opens, pop up box appears asking to open which i click on and doc appears in word!!! i am happy it did but i do not no how long it will and besdies this isnt the programs normal functional behaviour. id prefer some coonsistency and realibility, could you pls share your thoughts on what you think is happening here? how can i just make it open in a simple 2 clicks of the mouse without the ctrl button am really thinking its a Vista thing going on here id appreciate ur help ta Larry -- In search of Perfection "Graham Mayor" wrote: The peculiarities of Hotmail have nothing to do with Word.
