Default Links Within a Header/Footer

I am trying to set up a footer with a link from the document. The only
problem I am having is getting it to automatically update. The document is a
form, so I lock the Forms Toolbar to enter the data in the form fields. Then
the only way I can get the link in the footer to update is manually.

Is there a way to make it update automatically in this type of situation?

Thanks!

Me again. It is working now, but not sure why.
I saved the document, closed it, and then reopened. Now it's working.
If you have any ideas as to WHY it is now working, that would be great.
