Default vertical typing

How can I type vertical? I cannot figure out how to type from top to bottom,
like this
h
e
l
l
o
except to change the letters so you could turn the page sideways and read it
across. I am trying to draw a room layout and want to draw a table sideways
and say table. please help?!?!?

Not sure I understand fully. Do you want the letters to appear as you typed
them here, or would you ideally want them rotated 90% so that they read
correctly when you turn the page on its side?

In the Tables and Borders toolbar, take a look at the Text Direction tool.
It might do what you want.

You might try typing the vertical words in WORD using WordArt and then do a
copy and paste into your original document.

Crystal,

I spent 22 years in drafting and I can tell you that is *not* a good idea.
It's a royal pain in the arse to have to turn to read dimensions or
features. Stick with having your text running horizontally. Please.
