Default Setting up template for pre-printed forms

I have to create a template or document in WORD to fill in the blanks on
a pre-printed document. I'm having some difficulties though.

1. The coupons are printed 4 to a page (landscape, letter-sized).
2. The blanks are have a defined length which is different for every
entry.

I tried using a "label" setup defining each label size as the size of
one of the coupons, and then adding form fields, but I the entries
aren't limited as to length (even though I set the Maximum Length to
20).

Is there a better way I could be doing this?

Thank you!

Assuming that you are using a table to set this up, you may want to
specify fixed dimensions for the cells. You may also need exact line
spacing and a monospaced font.
