On my Laptop despite numerous attempts I cannot get MS word to retain new
font or page settings as a default. |

Do you have Acrobat 7? See the last section of

Open the Normal.Dot template (probably located in C:\Documents and
Settings\[your name]\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates) and make the changes that you want and then save and exit. -- Hope this helps.
