Default font and page setup defaults not saving

On my Laptop despite numerous attempts I cannot get MS word to retain new
font or page settings as a default.

Do you have Acrobat 7? See the last section of
http://www.gmayor.com/lose_that_adob...at_toolbar.htm
If not, open normal.dot directly and make the changes there.

Default font and page setup defaults not saving

Open the Normal.Dot template (probably located in C:\Documents and
Settings\[your name]\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates) and make the
changes that you want and then save and exit.
