Default Total pages incorrect

Hi,

I have a 53 page document. However, the page numbering says there are 54
total pages. How do I correct this?

I think we need a little more detail. Is it the NumPages field that is
returning 54? Or is the page number on the last page 54? Is the page
numbering continuous throughout? Are there any section breaks in the
document? Any Even Page/Odd Page breaks?

Hi Suzanne,

Thanks for your reply. There are no section breaks. There are page breaks
but no even/odd page breaks. It is one continuous document. The last page
is numbered 53. The NumPages field says 54.

NumPages is notoriously flaky; see
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/PageXofY.htm for other options.

This assumes that the page numbers are correct and that you don't have any
unnumbered pages, or start with 1 on the second page, or anything like that.
