Default I wish to stop word 2003 sending my document with reading layout

I have produced a report that i have sent to some of my collegues when they
have opened the email it has shown the document in reading layout with a grey
backround this is not what i want as it has messed up all the formatting and
looks stupid

is there any way to stop word doing this

any help greatfully appreciated

Unfortunately, this is a machine setting, not a document setting. Ask
the recipients to clear the "Allow starting in Reading Layout" option
on the General tab of Tools | Options.
